Stac is a server-driven UI framework for Flutter that lets you build UI from JSON. It was missing a Badge widget — a common UI element needed by apps using the framework for notification indicators and status labels.
Studied the existing Stac architecture — model/parser pattern — to ensure the Badge widget followed established conventions exactly.
Built the Badge model with full JSON schema support for positioning, alignment, colors, and child widget composition.
Implemented a custom parser that converts JSON definitions into Flutter Badge widgets at runtime.
Added gallery examples and comprehensive documentation so other contributors could follow the same pattern for future widgets.
PR #388 merged into production — Badge widget is now available to all Stac users. Demonstrated ability to understand complex open-source codebases and contribute production-quality code.
