OTT Player

Personal Project

Building a smooth, buffer-free video streaming experience on mobile is hard — especially when combining long-form content with short-form swipeable reels, while adapting quality to fluctuating network conditions.

1

Implemented adaptive bitrate streaming that detects network speed and switches video quality seamlessly without user intervention.

2

Built an LRU-based video caching layer to preload upcoming content and minimize buffering during playback.

3

Created an Instagram-like vertical swipe UI for short-form content using PageView with lazy loading to keep memory usage low.

4

Separated long-form and short-form content architecturally, sharing a common playback engine but with distinct UX flows.

A performant OTT app with smooth adaptive streaming, offline-capable caching, and a dual-format content experience (long-form + shorts) — all in a single Flutter codebase.
